Tottington Site Re-Opening

7th July 2022

Good news! The major part of the essential maintenance work at Tottington is completed.  We are delighted to confirm that Tottington will re-open on Monday 11th July 2022 at 8.30am.

The scaffolding is still up to complete ongoing building work. Disruption will be kept to a minimum to enable business as usual!

As from Monday 11th, we will be open during our normal hours Monday – Friday 8.30am – 6.30pm.

We look forward to welcoming you back and thank you sincerely for your patience and understanding during this time.

Temporary Closure of Tottington Site

11th May 2022

Due to essential maintenance work, to ensure the safety of our patients, clients and the practice team, we have closed our Tottington site until further notice.

During this temporary closure, our team will see all appointments and carry out procedures at our Harwood site.

Pre-booked appointments / Collection of Medications and Food

Our team is contacting Tottington clients with pre-booked appointments to re-arrange these at Harwood.

Clients who have ordered medication, including flea and worm treatment, or food at Tottington, can collect this from Harwood.

Tottington Clients – Calling the Practice

Please continue to call the usual Tottington number, which diverts to our Harwood site.  Due to the temporary merger of Harwood and Tottington, we are experiencing a very high volume of calls – please bear with us.

For any non-urgent matters, if you are unable to get through, please call us later so that we can keep our lines free for all urgent and emergency calls.  For non-urgent queries, you can also email us on harwood@penninevets.co.uk

We confirm that this temporary situation does not change our out of hours arrangements and Healthy Pet Club members from Tottington can still enjoy their usual discounts at Harwood.

We have contractors working around the clock to rectify the issues as quickly as possible and hope to resume service at Tottington for all our lovely clients and their pets as quickly as we can.

Thank you for your co-operation and understanding.

Please check our Facebook page for updates.

Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month May 2022

29th April 2022

RVN-with-catIn May 2005 the first ever Veterinary Nurse Awareness event was launched. Its aim was simple: to raise awareness of the work veterinary nurses do.

Seventeen years later and the veterinary nursing profession continues this yearly celebration in recognition of the skills and value registered veterinary nurses bring to animal health and welfare. During May, Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month (VNAM) provides a focussed opportunity to reflect on how veterinary nurses shape the high levels of clinical care practices provide and the many different roles and responsibilities they have.

Registered Veterinary Nurses and the wider nursing team of Patient Care Assistants are a fundamental part of the clinical team, taking a leading role in preventative health care, care of hospitalised patients and running of diagnostic tests. Depending on the procedure, registered veterinary nurses also support with or undertake surgical procedures and provide care during anaesthesia and in the recovery period too.

This edition’s Feline Focus puts the ‘energetic and chatty’ Bengal cat into the spotlight, with Barking Breeds profiling the ‘affectionate and fun-loving’ Cockerpoo.
